The Member representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Engr. Rodney Ambaiowei, has paid tribute to the memory of the first civilian Governor of Bayelsa State, the late Chief Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha, PhD, JP, on the occasion of his 11th remembrance anniversary.

Hon. Ambaiowei described the late governor as a courageous leader whose contributions to the creation, growth and development of Bayelsa State remain significant in the history of the state and the Ijaw nation.
He noted that Alamieyeseigha’s commitment to the political advancement of Bayelsa State and the welfare of its people had earned him a special place in the hearts of many, adding that his legacy continued to inspire present and future generations of leaders.
The federal lawmaker urged Bayelsans, particularly the younger generation, to reflect on the ideals of service, sacrifice and purposeful leadership associated with the late governor, while remaining committed to the peace, unity and development of the state.
Hon. Ambaiowei prayed that Almighty God would grant eternal rest to the soul of the departed leader and continue to comfort his family, political associates and the people of Bayelsa State.
