A vote for the APC is a vote for transparency, accountability, adherence to due process, prudent management of limited resources, and overall development.”
In a statement following their meeting in Benin City, the elders urged the electorate to reject political extremism, lackluster politicians, brutal dictatorship, and administrative incompetence.
“Senator Monday Okpebholo’s vision knows no bounds. He will establish tangible structures for development, transform our aspirations into tangible realities, advocate for a government that is honest and transparent, safeguard the interests of Edo’s inhabitants, bolster the state’s infrastructure, distribute key positions across the three senatorial zones, foster a business-friendly environment without policy obstacles, and safeguard the wealth of the people in all corners of the state.”
The statement was released by Chief Efua Abudu, the Chairman of the Edo Elders Forum (EEF), who accused the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of failing to enhance the state’s conditions.
“What Edo State requires is a forward-thinking leader who can devise innovative solutions to address the current lack of development. Senator Monday Okpebholo possesses the necessary exposure, education, and vision to elevate Edo State to the next level of progress.”
“Senator Monday Okpebholo is dedicated to building a state that thrives economically, serves as a center for modern development, and fosters business investments and employment opportunities. He will create new jobs, ensure adequate training and support for public servants, lead an all-inclusive government, narrow the wealth gap, introduce development initiatives, and promote women’s empowerment by reserving thirty-five percent of appointments for them.”
They believe that Okpebholo entered the gubernatorial race with the aim of attracting much-needed investment for the state’s development, harnessing its vast resources, bolstering revenue, and bridging the infrastructure deficit. He is expected to triumph over Ighodalo and Akpata.
