The member representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Engr. Rodney Ambaiowei, has called on all Daughters of Amassoma both within the community and in the diaspora, to continue promoting peace and actively contribute to the development of the community.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Hon. Rodney made the call on Saturday, August 10, 2024, when he received a delegation from the Daughters of Amassoma, led by the coordinator, High Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Douyi Alalibo (Nee Soubai), on a courtesy visit to express gratitude for his recent series of Amassoma TownHall meeting aimed at helping the community select a suitable Amananaowei and restore peace, which has been lacking for some time.
Speaking in a composed manner, High Chief Dr. Douyi Alalibo explained that their purpose for visiting was to show support to the federal lawmaker and to express gratitude for his contribution to the ongoing Amananaowei Stool saga.
She further expressed satisfaction with the way Hon. Rodney has handled the process so far and pledged the support of the Daughters of Amassoma, both at home and abroad, in ensuring a collaborative and community-backed selection of a deserving Amananaowei.
Hon. Rodney, in turn, expressed gratitude for their solidarity and reemphasized that the main objective of the process was to promote the overall well-being of the community, rather than serving political or personal interests. He assured them of his commitment to maintaining peace in Amassoma to facilitate its desired growth.
Additionally, the Congressman urged them to remain calm as the government has already established a committee to address all issues and enact laws that will guide the establishment of chieftaincy and traditional ruler transitions in a legal and transparent manner, that would lead to the selection of a new traditional ruler for the community.
