In a statement issued on Monday by his media aide, Mike Makpah, the federal lawmaker described the projects lined up for commissioning as “transformational” and reflective of purposeful governance under the current administration.

Ambaiowei particularly applauded the completion of the 630-metre Angiama-Oporoma Bridge, which spans the River Nun and connects Oporoma, headquarters of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, to the rest of the state by road for the first time.

“The completion of the Angiama-Oporoma Bridge is more than just an engineering feat; it is a lifeline for the people of Southern Ijaw,” he said. “For decades, our people have yearned for this connection. Today, through the ‘Prosperity Administration’ of Governor Douye Diri, that dream has become a reality.”

He noted that the bridge would open up the riverine communities to new economic opportunities, improve access to essential services such as healthcare and education, and strengthen social integration across the area.

Beyond the bridge, the lawmaker also highlighted other strategic projects scheduled for commissioning, including the 60-megawatt gas turbine power plant and the Yenagoa Ring Road (Phase 1), describing them as critical to the state’s long-term economic growth.

“These projects are clear indicators of a deliberate and strategic commitment to reposition Bayelsa as an industrial and economic hub,” Ambaiowei stated. “They speak volumes about the Governor’s vision for sustainable development.”

Ambaiowei further extended a warm welcome to President Tinubu ahead of his official visit to Bayelsa State, popularly referred to as the “Glory of all Lands,” expressing appreciation for the President’s continued support for the state.

“We are deeply honoured to receive His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Bayelsa. His support and fatherly disposition towards our state remain commendable,” he added.

As preparations intensify for the commissioning ceremony scheduled for April 10, 2026, the lawmaker called on residents across the state to turn out en masse to receive the President.

“I urge all Bayelsans to come out in their numbers to give the President a rousing welcome that reflects the peaceful, hospitable and united spirit of our people,” he said.

The upcoming visit is widely regarded as a significant moment for Bayelsa, marking the unveiling of key infrastructure expected to reshape the state’s economic and developmental trajectory.
