YENAGOA – Ahead of the 2025 National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST), the Bayelsa State Cultural Troupe has received a morale boost following an inspection visit by top government officials led by the Honourable Commissioner for Culture, Hon. Godpower Keku.

The visit, held at the Bayelsa State Council for Arts and Culture, featured the Honourable Commissioner for Tourism, Hon. John Alah, the Honourable Commissioner for Ijaw National Affairs, Hon. Chief Godspower Oporomo, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, Hon. Salo Adikumor, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Madam Tonye Koroye.
The troupe welcomed the delegation with a vibrant display of traditional dances, music, and artistic performances — a showcase that underscored Bayelsa’s rich cultural heritage and creative excellence.
In his remarks, Hon. Keku commended the performers for their dedication and urged them to sustain Bayelsa’s winning tradition at NAFEST.
“Year after year, Bayelsa has emerged as a top performer at the festival, and this year should be no different,” he said, charging the troupe to give their best and make the state proud once again.
He emphasized that Bayelsa’s culture is not only a reflection of its past but also a living expression of the people’s identity and pride. With the passion and unity demonstrated by the troupe, he expressed confidence that Bayelsa would shine brighter than ever on the national stage.
The 2025 edition of NAFEST is expected to bring together cultural troupes from across Nigeria to celebrate unity in diversity, showcase traditions, and promote national cohesion through arts and culture.
