Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, was last weekend honoured as an Icon of Sustainable Development at the 2023 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Impact Award in Abuja.

The organisers, Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals in conjunction with the UN SDGs office, said the award was in recognition of Governor Diri’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development of Bayelsa and for setting the proper foundation to ensure the state met the core thematic areas of the SDGs by 2030.
He was represented at the event by his Senior Special Assistant and Focal Person on SDGs, Dr. Ebiwari Wariowei
