Mr. Perembo, a 400-level student in the Department of Science Laboratory Technology at the University of Jos, made this appeal while speaking to EMTV News about the plight of Bayelsa students in Jos.
According to him, the security situation in Plateau State has worsened, leaving over 30 students stranded. He stressed that many Ijaw indigenes are willing to return home but lack the means to do so individually.
Perembo, who hails from Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, explained that he has contacted several government officials, including the Senior Adviser on Student Affairs and the Honourable Commissioner for Education, but has yet to receive any response.
“I am reaching out regarding the crisis in Plateau State. Almost every other state has already sent buses to evacuate their students from UNIJOS, but Bayelsa students remain stranded. We urgently need the state’s intervention to bring them home safely before the situation worsens,” he told EMTV News.
