The All-Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for Bayelsa Central Senatorial District in the forthcoming election Chief Timipa Tiwei Orunimighe has stated that his opponent in the ruling Peoples democratic Party (PDP) Dr. Konbowei Benson is a failure.

Chief Tiwei Orunimighe made the statement while addressing leaders and critical stakeholders of APC Southern Ijaw Constituency 2 comprising Oporoma and Tarakiri clans at a meeting held in Yenagoa on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
Speaking in the meeting presided by Hon. Koripamo Ogili, Director-General of Andy Zighadina Campaigns, the APC Senatorial Candidate Chief Orunimighe disclosed that his party has not started campaigns but he has come to consult his people in Constituency 2 and sensitize them on how to win the election between him and PDP Candidate Dr. Konbowei Benson who he described as a failure.
“13 years ago, I was Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area. When you look back 13 years ago, and the two years that I served…constitutionally I was supposed to serve you for 3 years but because of the way politics happened, I served Southern Ijaw for only 2 years”
Today, the man that they’re bring to contest election with me too had been Chairman of Southern Ijaw. The headquarters is his own. Compare our performances and you make the judgement. Who served you better?”
“Only recently, in the past Governorship election. We won the election. Because of your collective hard work, we won the election. It was a very tough election and there’s no one that didn’t work hard to win the election. But at the end of the story, while you were celebrating, the whole Southern Ijaw, the only person that didn’t like it was Konbowei Benson. When they annulled the election, he libated with drinks and danced against our work. Today, if he’s the one coming to contest election, will this house have any fears?”
“Don’t you know what to do? Konbowei story is nowhere. Leave Konbowei matter abeg! Konbowei is a failure”, he said.
In an exclusive interview with Erevision MediaTV, the Koluama born APC Senatorial candidate Chief Timipa Tiwei Orunimighe said that the PDP candidate does not have any records in all the various positions he has held till date.
“Konbowei does not have a record, as a local government Chairman. He does not have a record as legislator in the State House of Assembly. He does not even have a record as Secretary to Government”.
“I was a local government Chairman. I was a former party Chairman. You can see, APC is everywhere. Those are the things we have done by the special grace of God with the support of our leader Chief Timipre Sylva and other leaders that have come to support the APC. APC, APC everywhere is peoples work”, he said.
