Kesiye Gbiagbia Godwill Welcomes APC Decampees To PDP says the state remains a Peoples Democratic Party state, calling on Bayelsans to ensure that the party continues to soar higher. Noting the development stride and peace restored by His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri in Bayelsa state, specifically the Oporoma-Ukubie Road which will be worthwhile to People of Ekowe (Ward 7).
Hon. Kesiye stated this on Monday when he accompanied the member representing Southern Ijaw Constituency III, Hon. Moses Marlon at the formal reception of a reasonable number of All Progressive Congress (APC) decampees in Ekowe. He said the need for all to support the party was because of the outstanding achievements of Governor Douye Diri, and urged them to close ranks to ensure that the PDP records a resounding victory at the polls come 11th 2023.
The chairman of the PDP in Southern Ijaw Hon. Ikoro Sylvanus Willabo, while welcoming the decampees drawn from Ward 7, said the PDP always gives every member a sense of belonging and a level playing field.
In a speech, the Bomo Central West Authority chairman, Hon. Kesiye Gbiagbia Godwill, and the representing Southern Ijaw Constituency III, Hon. Moses Marlon, affirmed that the decamping of the hitherto APC members to the PDP would move the party to enviable heights.
Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Mr. Iyenimi Sling, pioneer APC coordinator Ward 7 describes the APC as a death and failed party that is fond of dumping supporters after elections. He further said in his experience from the past years as a pioneer coordinator of the party he has nothing to boast of as honor from the All Progressive Congress (APC). We have resolved and we pledge our unwavering support to return Sen. Douye Diri’s prosperity-led administration come November 11th 2023.
The event attracted the caretaker chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Hon. Lucky Okodeh; his dependable vice chairman Hon. Mao Onini, the Southern Ijaw PDP chairman, Hon. Ikoro Sylvanus Willabo, PDP chieftains, youths, and traditional rulers, among others. It also witnessed the public destruction of the APC party broom symbols and membership cards by the decampees.
