The projects were inaugurated by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. They include the Opebi–Mende–Ojota Link Bridge and a multi-agency complex known as the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Complex, located in Alausa.
In a post on his verified Facebook page, Governor Diri stated: “I attended today’s event as a dress rehearsal for Friday’s visit of Mr. President to our dear state, where he will commission four signature projects executed by our administration. These include the 60MW independent power plant at Elebele, the 630-metre Angiama–Oporoma Bridge in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, the dualised Road One of the New Yenagoa City linking the Airport Road, and the 42-kilometre Sagbama–Ekeremor Road, which has been completed and is awaiting inauguration.”

He further called on the people of Bayelsa State to come out en masse to welcome the President and other dignitaries.
“I once again invite the people of our state to turn out in large numbers and accord Mr. President and all other visitors the warm hospitality for which Bayelsans are known,” he added.
