*Reaffirms Commitment to Prosperity Agenda
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! In a significant move that underscores his administration’s infrastructural drive and strategic vision, the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Senator Douye Diri, on Friday, August 29, 2025, paid a working visit to the ongoing Ekeremor-Ndoro-Agge road construction site in Bayelsa West Senatorial District.

This crucial road project, which stretches from Ekeremor main town to Ndoro—with a spur to Peretorugbene—covers a total of 27.877 kilometres in its first phase.
The road is poised to open up several riverine communities, including Toru-Ndoro and Peretorugbene, connecting them with greater ease to other parts of the state and beyond.
Sharing updates on his verified Facebook page, Governor Diri emphasized the strategic importance of the road, particularly as it relates to the development of the Agge Deep Seaport—a flagship economic project being undertaken by the Bayelsa State Government.
“While this road will serve the people of Toru-Ndoro, Peretorugbene and neighbouring riverine communities, it is in fact strategic to the Agge Deep seaport being developed by the Bayelsa State Government,” the Governor noted.

Governor Diri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing the first phase of the project before the end of his tenure, citing steady funding and the assurances given by contractors on ground.
“With the assurance from the contractors and our commitment to funding, I am confident our Government of Assured Prosperity will deliver the first phase… before the end of this administration,” he assured.
The Ekeremor-Ndoro-Agge road is more than just an infrastructure project—it represents a promise of inclusion, development, and prosperity for the people of Bayelsa West.

By linking remote riverine communities to critical economic hubs, the Diri administration is not only improving accessibility but also laying the foundation for long-term socio-economic transformation.
As the work progresses, the eyes of Bayelsans—and indeed the Niger Delta region—remain on this key development, which may very well redefine the economic trajectory of Bayelsa State in the years to come.
