In an interview with Fisayo Fosudo on a podcast, Don Jazzy explained that he could not sign Wizkid because Banky W’s EME got to him first. He expressed his disappointment, saying that signing Wizkid would have been amazing for his label.

Don Jazzy also revealed that he wished he could have signed some other talented singers such as Davido, Falz, Simi, and Teni. While he had the opportunity to sign Davido, he decided against it, feeling that Davido would do well on his own.

“Wizkid, obviously, I could not (sign), because Banky got to him first. That would have been amazing,” he said.

He further explained that signing an artiste requires a significant investment of time and money, and that he couldn’t sign every artiste he liked. Nonetheless, he remains on the lookout for new talents and opportunities to build his roster.
