Speaking to newsmen shortly after his maiden meeting with the men and officers of the Bayelsa State Command today in Yenagoa, Pastor Orusomu commended Dr. Christian Daniel, as well as the Board of Trustees and the National Executive Council of the UNC, for believing in his capability to serve as the Bayelsa State Commandant. He emphasized that he would work diligently to justify the trust placed in him.

Mr. Orusomu called on Bayelsa youths to join the ranks of the UNC and commended the officers for their commitment to humanitarian services in spite of financial and logistical challenges. He underscored that with hard work comes recognition, support, and rewards.

“With me, it’s no longer business as usual. The United Nigeria Chaplaincy must be heard and seen to be working in Bayelsa State,” he stated.

“As a humanitarian and voluntary organization, we are praying and hoping that our work will be recognized and rewarded by relevant government agencies as we engage in voluntary traffic and environmental services as a way forward.”

“We have also resolved to collaborate and work with relevant security agencies in the state to support the government’s efforts at maintaining peace in the state,” he added.

Mr. Ebikabowei Orusomu also expressed optimism that the Commandant-General, Board of Trustees, and prominent stakeholders of the United Nigeria Chaplaincy would reinvigorate efforts to advocate for the enactment of the UNC Bill currently pending before the National Assembly.

The inaugural meeting was attended by officers drawn from the eight local government areas of Bayelsa State.
