Gov. Diri attends Bayelsa Elders and Security Council Meetings

*Warns George Turnah against planned rally

Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri today, attended a meeting of Bayelsa elders council in Yenagoa, ably led by the immediate past Deputy governor of the state, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (Rtd).

Governor Diri in his remarks thanked the elders for their immense contributions to the development of the state, while assuring them of his commitment in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

The governor while restating his commitment to the provision of 24hour electricity by the end of the year, said arrangements were at advanced stage for the acquisition of the gas turbines.

“I want to commend you for keeping this council alive and for coming together to think about the growth and development of our state”, Governor Diri stated.

Gov. Diri also raised the security concerns of the planned rally being organised by Mr. George Turnah in Yenagoa and placed the security agencies on alert.

“As today, that young man George Turnah, is not a member of PDP in Bayelsa State”, Sen. Diri said.
