During a news conference in Abuja on Friday, Prof. Adesina Sodiya, President of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), urged the incoming administration of Sen. Bola Tinubu to continue with the census process despite its suspension.

We need it for education, agriculture, and to provide accurate demographic information about us.”
He expressed the commitment of the society to a credible digital census and commended the National Population Commission (NPC) for its digital preparation towards the census. Sodiya also revealed that the group had proposed an IT Cadre to the government aimed at enhancing digital policy. He further stated that any person or group that carries out activities digitally will always receive the support of the group.
The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has been championing IT development for four decades now. In conclusion, Sodiya urged the government to prioritize the census process and ensure that it is conducted in a credible and transparent manner, as it is essential for national development and planning.
