The Chairman of Ekeremor Local Government Area, Hon. Onniye Isaac, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to God Almighty and His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, for the opportunity to serve the great people of Ekeremor LGA.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Thorpe Okokoyoh Henry, the Chairman reflected on how his election surprised many, describing it as a divine favor. He gave thanks to God during a grand thanksgiving service held to commemorate his first year in office.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Onniye reiterated his appreciation to Governor Douye Diri for having chosen him as the LGA Chairman, promising to uphold the trust placed in him.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering impactful and people-oriented projects aimed at improving the living standards of Ekeremor residents.
“I will continue to fulfill my mandate and work tirelessly to give back to the people who deserve the very best,” he stated.
Before the reception, the entire Council and several dignitaries gathered at the council chapel for a solemn thanksgiving service to honor God for a successful year in office. Special prayers were offered for the Council, its leadership, Governor Douye Diri, Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, the Prosperity Administration, and the people of Bayelsa State.
Former Chairman of Ekeremor LGA, High Chief Perekeme Bertola, joined Hon. Onniye in expressing gratitude to God for sustaining peace and progress within the Council. He praised the current Chairman’s commendable achievements and expressed confidence that significant developmental projects would be realized before the end of his tenure.
Hon. Onniye was accompanied by his elegant wife, Bishop Mrs. Victoria Onniye; his supportive Vice Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Ebiere Clark; Political Secretary to the Council, Hon. Skelly Taibai; and the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Benni Nanabofa Sylvester.
In recognition of his outstanding performance, Hon. Onniye was honored with a special portrait award from the 7th Legislative Arm of the Council.
Also in attendance were the PDP Chairman of Ekeremor LGA, Dr. Perewarebo Esemokumo; Head of Local Government, Mr. Taritei Tiwei; Council Cashier, Mr. Keme Ebimoghan; Supervisory Councillors; Council Appointees; Heads of Departments; Women Leaders; and other respected personalities who came to celebrate this significant milestone with him.
