The Director General of the Bayelsa State Emergency Management Agency (BYSEMA), Hon. Walamam Samuel Igrubia, has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a letter dated October 31, 2025, and addressed to the Chairman of Ward 7, Ogbia Local Government Area, Hon. Igrubia noted that his decision aligns with the move of Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, who recently exited the party.
“In light of Governor Sen. Douye Diri’s decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), I too submit my resignation from the party, effective immediately,” he stated.
Hon. Igrubia reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty and commitment to supporting the Governor’s vision for the state and continuing efforts to deliver good governance and development to the people of Bayelsa.

“I remain loyal to the Governor and his administration’s vision for Bayelsa, and I’m committed to continuing our collective efforts in serving the people under his leadership,” he added.
He expressed his appreciation to PDP members and stakeholders for their support over the years and extended his best regards.
