*Charge Them To Harp On The Dangers Of Crime And Criminality
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Social media influencers of Ijaw extraction have been advised to use their various platforms to promote peace and unity as well as the ideals of Ijaw people.
President of Ijaw Youth Council, IYC Worldwide, Sir Jonathan Lokpobiri Snr, handed this down to members of the immediate past Bayelsa Government New Media Team, who visited him in his Yenagoa residence on Friday, to reaffirm their unflinching support for his leadership.
Jonathan Lokpobiri, said although the social media is inundated with lots of hate and divisive comments, it is important to overlook those whose interest is to antagonise the positive contents in the cyber space and close ties with those with unity and peace building contents.
While maintaining that there is no time the Ijaw people need greater peace and unity than this precarious time, the IYC President charged social media icons to set time aside their job of serving the political interests of the state, and harp on the dangers of engaging in crimes and criminalities, especially in times like this when some security agents operate outside the rules of engagement, leaving behind unqualifiable collateral damages in the process of fishing out culprits.
Lokpobiri, however commended them for the obvious improvement in their job and advised them to do more when reappointed, stressing that, because of their hard work, he has no doubt that they will be reappointed.
On their separate remarks, Ebi Amula and Steve Tekerebo, who lauded his achievements within the short period he has been in office, also thanked the Crowned Prince of Ijaw Nation, for the warm reception and expressed their readiness to freely serve Ijaw nation whenever necessary.
