In a heartfelt reflection, the screen icon revealed that she lost her husband at a very young age, a painful experience that changed the course of her life forever. Despite the struggles and emotional weight, Benson said she kept pushing forward, determined not to let grief define her future.
Her breakthrough came in 1993, when she played Mrs. Agnes Johnson in the hit TV soap opera Fortunes. The role instantly brought her into the spotlight, making her one of the most recognizable faces on Nigerian television.
From there, Nollywood opened its doors wide, and Liz Benson went on to feature in some of the industry’s most memorable classics, including Glamour Girls, Diamond Ring, and True Confession.
Known for her mastery in portraying wicked and tough characters, Benson admitted that her on-screen presence was so convincing that many people actually believed she was the same in real life.
