The projects—a 9.4-kilometre Ogu Community Road Network and a 1,500-seater Royal Hall—were commissioned under the leadership of the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Nyesom Wike, CON. The interventions are designed to improve connectivity, stimulate local economic activities, and strengthen social and cultural life in the host communities.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NDDC, Chief (Dr.) Samuel Ogbuku, described the projects as concrete dividends of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda in the Niger Delta.
“The Board and Management of the NDDC remain resolute in delivering quality, people-centred projects across the Niger Delta. In Ogu Kingdom, we have once again delivered tangible dividends of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Ogbuku said.

He noted that the newly commissioned road network would ease movement, enhance access to markets and social services, and open up economic opportunities for residents, while the Royal Hall would serve as a hub for cultural, social, and community engagements.
Ogbuku expressed appreciation to the Honourable Minister of the FCT for his support and presence at the event, describing his words as encouraging and reassuring on the positive impact of NDDC interventions in the region.
“I sincerely appreciate the Honourable Minister of the FCT, Chief Nyesom Wike, for standing with us and for his encouraging words on the impact of our interventions,” he stated.

The NDDC boss reiterated the Commission’s commitment to translating the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, into measurable outcomes that directly improve the lives of people in oil-producing communities.
“At the NDDC, we remain fully committed to translating the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu into tangible and measurable outcomes for the Niger Delta,” Ogbuku added.
He further called on the people of Ogu-Bolo to take ownership of the projects and ensure their sustainability, stressing that community participation is key to long-term impact.
“These projects belong to the people. I urge the Ogu-Bolo communities to take ownership and help sustain them. Through collective responsibility, partnership, and accountability, we will continue to change the narrative of our oil-producing region,” he said.

The commissioning of the Ogu Community Road Network and Royal Hall underscores the NDDC’s renewed focus on impactful infrastructure delivery and collaborative development in line with national development priorities.
