Mrs. Izonfuo disclosed this while speaking to Erevision MediaTV in an exclusive interview while monitoring a 2-day refresher training of Data Quality Managers (DQMs) at the Commission’s office in Yenagoa.

She explained that this is a digital census and that means that all of the Commission’s Enumerators will be trained on the use of the Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) which is the new thing that the National Population Commission has introduced to this census.

“Following the Trial Census, we had our e-recruitment exercise. And with that exercise, we’ve been able to recruit personnel from all the eight Local Government Areas of Bayelsa State”

“So from the 11th of this month (April), God willing, all those who are successful after their screening will be invited to go to their different LGAs to be trained before the main House Listing will start”

“After the House Listing, we’ll do the second round of training for the Enumerators again, to better equip them for Enumeration of the people. When that finishes, a few months later, we’ll have select Local Government Areas where we’ll now test all what we have done for the Census, that is, the Post Enumeration Survey (PES).

“And that survey is what will set the tone and will confirm what we have done to be accurate or not”, she said.
