In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Willie Etim, the NDDC boss expressed strong disapproval of the misleading publication, which was credited to a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He described the report as a mischievous attempt to create an illusion of conflict between him and Governor Diri.

Dr. Ogbuku emphasized that there is no rift or rivalry within the APC family in Bayelsa State, stressing that he remains committed to the party’s unity and progress. He also clarified that any political opinions expressed by individuals should be regarded strictly as personal views and not as a reflection of his position or that of the NDDC.

“The attempt to link the governor to political controversies or rumours of arrest is both misleading, mischievous, and unnecessary,” the statement read in part.

The NDDC Managing Director expressed sincere apologies to Governor Diri for any embarrassment the false publications may have caused and urged all political stakeholders and party loyalists to exercise caution in their public statements.

He further called on media practitioners to verify their reports before publication to avoid spreading misinformation capable of sowing discord within the state’s political space.
