President Tinubu explained that the tax laws are not designed to increase taxes but to support a structural reset of the system, drive harmonisation, protect dignity, and strengthen the social contract between the government and the people.
“This is our time. If we don’t come together and take this time, we should not complain to the younger ones later. We must come together and possess what belongs to us in this state,”

The PANDEF chairman expressed hope that the coming year would usher in a period of healing, unity, and progress across the Niger Delta. He emphasized the need for collective resolve and togetherness in addressing common challenges and advancing the development of the region.
“To every Bayelsan who carries a burden, a wound, a fear, or a silent tear, Christ’s birth is our anchor. His coming is our assurance that no darkness — no matter how deep — is beyond His reach.”
“A very deep void has been created by his passing and it is only God that can give us the fortitude to fill that vacuum. May God grant the governor, the Ewhrudjakpo family and people of the state the grace to overcome the painful loss.”
“As mortals, we cannot ask why death came at this time. The late Deputy Governor was very active in service and died in active service.”
“Yes, our hearts are heavy because we lost our deputy governor, who would have been here to read one of the lessons. However, the truth is that each and every one of us will answer this call.

“On a nostalgic, historic note, let me say that this particular visit leaves a very sour taste in my mouth. I would have preferred since handing over in 2020 to you that I visited here on a happy occasion.
