In a press statement jointly signed by King Alfred Diette-Spiff, Obong Victor Attah, Ambassador Dr. Godknows Boladei Igali, and Engr. Beks Dagogo-Jack, PANDEF described the development as the “dawn of a glorious day” for Rivers people.
The group commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it called a bold decision to correct an “anomaly,” and congratulated Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, Professor Ngozi Oduah, the Speaker, and members of the House of Assembly on their return to office after months of suspension.
“We say to the political leaders and people of Rivers State, who were the true victims of the dark days, that light has returned to the state and a new glorious dawn has come,” the statement read.
PANDEF urged political stakeholders and citizens of the state to put aside past bitterness and embrace mutual forgiveness, unity, and forward-looking collaboration for the collective good of the state.
The forum further expressed optimism that Rivers State would now return to stability and resume its developmental trajectory under Governor Fubara’s leadership. It reaffirmed its readiness to support the government and people of Rivers in their pursuit of peace, progress, and prosperity.
