Tinubu emphasized the need to protect and cherish democracy, which was hard-won through the sacrifices of many heroes of democracy.
He also highlighted the importance of the rule of law, a vibrant judiciary, and social and economic justice for the people.
Tinubu acknowledged the pain that the removal of fuel subsidy would cause but assured Nigerians that the government would invest in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other public utilities to improve their quality of life.
He called on elected officials to recommit themselves to offering selfless service to the people and delivering concrete democracy dividends in accordance with their electoral promises.
Tinubu concluded by wishing Nigerians a happy Democracy Day celebration and praying that the light of liberty would never be extinguished in the country.
