The Revamp Niger Delta Now Movement is gearing up for a major national protest in Bayelsa State, despite calls from politicians and traditional rulers to abandon the organized event.

The group is determined to peacefully demonstrate the frustrations of angry and hungry Nigerians who are tired of failed government policies. From August 1st to 10th, protesters plan to occupy the East West Road until their demands are met.
The group has submitted a protest letter to the Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State and other relevant authorities, seeking support for their peaceful demonstration. They emphasize that protesting is a constitutional right, as stipulated in Section 40 of the Nigerian Constitution.
In a press statement released by its Convener Engr. Ebideke Atuwo and Contact Manager Comr. Doubra Sien on Saturday, the group said that the protesters’ grievances and demands are focused on critical issues affecting the country, including the high cost of food commodities, fuel price hikes, insecurity, the poor state of the East West Road, exorbitant electricity tariffs, crude oil theft, inflation, unemployment, resource control, the need for functional and modular refineries, the relocation of IOCs back to the Niger Delta, and the high wages of political office holders.
Despite attempts to dissuade them, the Revamp Niger Delta Now Movement remains undeterred. Momentum for the protest is growing rapidly, and they are determined to occupy the East West Road with peaceful demonstrations.
