This weekend, I joined my brother-governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at our Forum’s meeting in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.

The two-day meeting commenced on Friday with a Gala Night at the Zamfara Government House.
Present at the meetings were my brother-governors of Bauchi and our Forum’s chair, Sen. Bala Mohammed, Adamawa (Ahmadu Fintiri), Enugu (represented by his deputy, Ifeanyi Ossai), Osun (Sen. Ademola Adeleke), Oyo (Engr. Oluseyi Makinde) and Taraba (Agbu Kefas)
Also in attendance were former governors of Gombe State, Sen. Ibrahim Dankwambo, and Niger State, Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu as well as the PDP National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, chairman of our party’s Board of Trustees and former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara, and the Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro among other party stalwarts.

We had an excellent host in His Excellency Dr. Dauda Lawal, who utilised the opportunity of our visit to showcase the extraordinary hospitality of Zamfara State and its people. After our famed affability in Bayelsa, we witnessed another level of cordiality offered by Governor Lawal and his bespoke team. Their organisation was top-notch and quite commendable.
Meetings of the PDP Governors Forum are moments for peer review, and the visit to Gusau was an eye opener.

Without a shadow of doubt, Governor Lawal has stamped his developmental imprint on the state. He has also frontally tackled the insecurity challenge.
Again, I express profound appreciation to the government and people of Zamfara State.
