Following the court’s final decision, Sowore confirmed that his international passport was released and returned to him, ending what he described as a prolonged and unjustified seizure.
Sowore, publisher of SaharaReporters and convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, has been a long-time critic of government policies. He has faced multiple arrests and legal battles since 2019 over his activism, anti-corruption campaigns, and calls for good governance in Nigeria.
“If we don’t take immediate action, we will lose the power and our citizens under the situation of increased fuel price, increased electricity price, increased everything and we are yet to get the right measures to provide questions for our constituents”.
