The Amassoma Amananaowei Stool Saga: Call for Suspension and Await further Instructions

Greetings, my beloved fathers, mothers, leaders, brothers, and sisters. In the past weeks, under the directive of our leader, His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri, and the Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who i took permission to intervene on the lingering Amassoma Amananaowei stool crisis, which has eluded the peace, love, and oneness we once shared as a community.

Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

In order to choose a people’s Amananaowei collectively as a community, I took the initiative to organise multiple town hall meetings with chiefs, political leaders, youth leaders, clerics, sons, and daughters of Amassoma.

As many interests became embroiled in conflict, the process gave rise to factional issues. Believe me, and I still stand by my words. My purpose for this process was not for politics or selfish gains but for the common good of our community. I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone, including both for and against the process. In processes like this, I expect for and against, but our unity is sacrosanct because of our peculiar community-Amassoma.

Following further deliberations with the governor and the deputy governor, I hereby call for the suspension of our earlier schedule town hall meeting slated for today, August 4, 2024, and all meetings and proceedings pertaining to the Amassoma traditional stool saga in order to comply with the directive of His Excellency Sen. Douye Diri, the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, and to further prevent any further conflict or crisis in the process of installing the traditional ruler in the community beforehand.

I further urge all Amassoma sons and daughters to maintain composure and await further instructions, as the government will soon enact laws that will direct the chieftancy and traditional ruler establishment in carrying out a legal and transparent transition process that will usher in a new traditional ruler for our community. I love you all, and God bless you.

God bless you all.
