The Hon. Member Representatives representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency Engr. Rodney Ebikebina Ambaiowei has said that there is no other party apart from PDP in Bayelsa State.

Rodney Ambaiowei stated this during a strategic meeting with critical stakeholders of Southern Ijaw Constituency 1 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), comprising Amatolo, Amassoma and Otuan, he hosted in Yenagoa on September 3, 2023.
Various speakers took turns to elaborate on critical issues, challenges and opportunities available that will benefit the entire constituents, as well as strategies that would be put in place towards a successful electioneering campaigns that will ensure victory for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) come November 11, 2023.
In an exclusive interview with Erevision MediaTV correspondent shortly after the meeting, Hon. Ambaiowei said that the essence of special Stakeholders meeting was to enable him to interact with his direct constituents concerning November 11, 2023 Governorship election.
He emphasized that this meeting was also necessary for him to discuss other issues that have been bordering the people of Southern Ijaw Constituency 1 that required immediate attention, stressing that the development of our constituency, growing human capacity, empowering women in politics, the Niger Delta University (NDU) Personnel who are disengaged.
“The essence of today’s meeting is for me to interact with my direct constituents to deliberate on issues that have long been affecting us as constituents and to see how we can proffer a lasting solutions to these problems”.
“In this State, I keep telling anyone who cares to know that we done have any other party apart from PDP. And in my own direct Constituency, I interacted with them today so as for us to plan towards the Governorship election come November 11, 2023. And they have given me great assurance that we don’t have any other party apart from PDP. And come November 11, 2023, PDP all the way”.
“In this meeting, we have considered all those areas, and of course, we’re not going to sell out what we have agreed to the public. We have agreed to do the needful. And I’m sure that by the time do the deliberations we’ve had here, definitely, Douye Diri come November 11, 2023 will be a success”, he said.
On whether the emergent political violence rocking Opu-Nembe Bassambiri in Nembe Local Government Area is a foreshadow of what people should expect during the elections, Hon. Rodney Ambaiowei said:
“We strongly condemn that act in Nembe. And of course, the constituency that I came from, which is the National Assembly, the lower house, we have jointly held a press conference condemning the act. And apart from that, we have also gone to pay condolence visit to His Excellency. We don’t think after now these acts of violence would resurface in any other Local Government. And I’m sure the Federal Government is also aware of this act and I’m sure that with the message we have sent to His Excellency, the President of this country, this menace will be curbed before the November 11, 2023 elections”.
The Honourable member of the House of Representatives Hon. Rodney Ambaiowei implored each and everyone in his Constituency to remain steadfast, as steps have already been taken by our ever-listening leader and Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri to address all pressing issues affecting our people.
In conclusion, Hon. Ambaiowei highlighted the preponderance of the Constituency in view of the BVAS that has given the voting process a digital edge.
The Congressman also emphasized that this Stakeholders meeting which marks the beginning of preparatory activities towards the successful re-election of Sen. Douye Diri as the next Governor of Bayelsa, will continue to be convened in all Constituencies of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.
He also assured them of a veritable partnership and readiness to leave no stone unturned to give His Excellency Sen. Douye Diri a convincing victory in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.
