According to a State House press release issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga on Wednesday, the President’s decision underscores his concern over the loss of lives in the North-Central state.

Tinubu is expected to meet with government officials and community leaders in Plateau, where gunmen recently carried out attacks that claimed the lives of several residents. The presidency described the victims as “innocent citizens,” noting that the visit is aimed at expressing solidarity and assessing the situation firsthand.

Following the Jos visit, the President will proceed to Lagos to observe the Good Friday.

The President will resume his scheduled engagements on Saturday, April 4, with a trip to Ogun State for the commissioning of the Gateway International Cargo Airport in Iperu. During the visit, he will also inaugurate two commercial aircraft intended to facilitate import and export operations, a move expected to boost the state’s economy.

In addition, Tinubu will commission a newly constructed Federal Operations Unit facility of the Nigerian Customs Service, alongside operational vehicles to enhance service delivery.

Back in Lagos, the President is slated to inaugurate several infrastructure projects executed by the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. These include the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System building, a multi-agency complex named after the President, and a school complex.

As part of the extended tour, Tinubu will also visit Bayelsa State on April 10 to commission projects completed by Governor Duoye Diri.

The presidency said the multi-state visit reflects the administration’s dual focus on responding to national security concerns and advancing infrastructure development across the country.
