Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! As part of its efforts to reorganize its structures and operations, the United Nigeria Chaplaincy (UNC) is set to organize a National Peace Summit with the theme Peace: Key to the Development of Nations, scheduled for January 25, 2025, in Jabi area of Abuja Federal Capital Territory.

A statement from the Commandant-General of UNC, Dr. Christian Daniel, indicated that the objective of the upcoming National Peace Summit is to bring together officers and personnel from all 36 states of the federation to brainstorm on ways to position the organization for more effective execution of its constitutional mandate, thereby better serving Nigerians and assisting the government in fostering peace in areas where it is lacking.
“We want to use the occasion of the National Peace Summit to reunite all our officers across the nation and to make them feel the impact of the current management. We are changing the narratives of the past,” he stated.
The United Nigeria Chaplaincy (UNC) is an inter-religious organization comprising Christians, Muslims, and Traditional Worshippers. It was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2010 and was databased by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2011.
The core mandates and operational scope of the United Nigeria Chaplaincy (UNC) include, but are not limited to, General Peace Mission and Anti-Conflict Management, General Humanitarian Services with Human Rights Management, General Emergency and Traffic Services, a Special Peace Squad for Security, Protection, and Defense for Affected Communities, Peace Mission Officers, General Assistance to Other Paramilitaries in Need of Manpower, and General Anti-Cult and Anti-Cyber Crime Services.

As a voluntary paramilitary organization dedicated to peace advocacy, the United Nigeria Chaplaincy is seeking recognition from the Federal Government and urges the National Assembly to pass the UNC bill submitted through the Senate President in 2016 for enactment. This would enable the statutory establishment of the organization, allowing it to effectively serve the nation and contribute to restoring peace throughout the country.
To ensure the success of the National Peace Summit, the UNC is also appealing to federal, state, and local government councils for financial support for all activities of the organization to achieve its desired goals.
