The couple has been embroiled in a bitter marital battle, with accusations of infidelity and other issues surfacing. The situation escalated when Ezinne took legal action against Olarenwaju.

In her suit filed on March 20, 2024, Ezinne accused Olarenwaju of baseless allegations of infidelity and witchcraft, claiming that he even damaged her phone during the confrontation. She stated that upon Olarenwaju’s unexpected return from Turkey, he verbally abused her and her mother, attempting to force her out of their home.

However, in a cross-petition filed on July 1, 2024, Olarenwaju countered that Ezinne had repeatedly committed adultery with the UK-based pastor and other men since their marriage in 2013. He also claimed that his estranged wife had kidnapped their children, who were eventually rescued by the Department of State Services personnel.

Olarenwaju further accused Ezinne of undermining their joint business ventures, alleging that she had colluded with an ex-lover to collect rent proceeds from properties purchased by him for their investment.

In his bid for custody of their children, Olarenwaju argued that Ezinne’s actions showed a lack of concern for their well-being, citing her inappropriate discussions and absconding with the children during the school term.

Olarenwaju is seeking a decree of dissolution of their marriage, custody of the children, and N1bn in damages from Pastor Tobi Adegboyega for the alleged adulterous relationship with Ezinne.

The court proceeding is set to take place on September 24, 2024.
