The Honourable Member, Engr. Rodney Ebikebina Ambaiowei, representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has expressed his congratulations to Governor Douye Diri on the affirmation of his governorship election victory by the Supreme Court in Abuja on Friday.

In a statement issued by his Media Assistant, Mr. Mike Makpah, Hon. Engr. Ambaiowei stated that Governor Diri’s triumph at the apex court serves as the ultimate judicial confirmation of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate’s landslide victory in the 2023 Governorship poll held on November 11, 2023.
He emphasized that the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Governor Diri’s election is not only a victory for democracy and the rule of law, but also a significant turning point in the country’s electoral law that will be remembered for centuries to come.
Hon. Ambaiowei described Senator Douye Diri’s latest judicial victory as a validation of the majority of Bayelsans’ electoral wishes, who overwhelmingly voted for the PDP as their preferred party.
He further added that the Supreme Court’s affirmation has put to rest all doubts and controversies raised by the opposition regarding the governorship election.
The Federal lawmaker urged opposition parties to collaborate with Governor Diri in order to drive the state’s political, economic, and social progress for the benefit of Bayelsans.
He also advised unsuccessful candidates and parties, whose petitions and appeals were rejected by the courts, to accept Governor Diri’s offer of cooperation, as there must be an end to litigation once the electorate has spoken through their votes.

On behalf of the remarkable people of Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, I extend my congratulations to our exceptional governor, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, the leadership of our party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Bayelsans worldwide on this remarkable victory”.
“Let us join hands with the governor’s unwavering efforts to propel our state’s development and prosperity to unprecedented heights,” he concluded.
