Amb. Igali made the pledge on Saturday in Yenagoa when the National President of NUIS, Comrade Esiah Temowenemi Precious, alongside the Secretary-General, Comrade Esther E. Finebon, paid him a courtesy visit.
Speaking during the visit, the PANDEF Chairman assured the student leaders of the forum’s commitment to their growth and aspirations.
On behalf of PANDEF, I will support you as much as possible for you to succeed in your NUIS Elective Conventions, scholarship advocacy, and school outreach programmes,” Amb. Igali stated.
Earlier, Comrade Esiah Temowenemi Precious had formally presented a letter of request on behalf of the students’ body, commending PANDEF’s leadership role in championing peace, justice, and development in the Niger Delta.
The letter highlighted areas where NUIS is seeking support, including:

- Support for NUIS Elective Convention – financial and moral assistance to strengthen student leadership and promote unity across the region.
- Assistance in Reaching the NDDC Managing Director – to help facilitate student-focused partnerships with the Niger Delta Development Commission.
- Scholarship Advocacy – urging PANDEF to engage key stakeholders like the NDDC and NNPC to support indigent and high-performing Niger Delta students.
- Support for School Outreach – backing NUIS’ ongoing efforts to reach secondary schools with notebooks, teaching materials, and infrastructure support.
The NUIS leadership expressed optimism that PANDEF’s involvement would further inspire Niger Delta youths and deepen the impact of their initiatives.
