In an open adjuration addressed to the governor, Amiekumo described Governor Diri as a leader with “exceptional leadership potentials” and commended his role in steering the affairs of the party and the state.

The aspirant, who identified himself as one of the “opt-out aspirants” in the Southern Ijaw Constituency 1 race, said the adoption of a consensus method would promote unity, peace, and harmony within the party.

According to him, “By applying the consensus method, I believe there will be sanity and peaceful coexistence among members of the party, especially in Southern Ijaw Constituency 1.”

Amiekumo stressed that his appeal was not intended to challenge the authority of the governor but rather a respectful plea to the leader of the party in the state.

“This is not an arm-twisting to your leadership or authority, but a sincere appeal to a father and leader of our great party,” he stated.

He further applauded Governor Diri for what he described as the “sanitization” and leadership direction being provided within the APC family in Bayelsa State.

The aspirant also pledged continued loyalty to the leadership of the party while expressing optimism that the governor would consider his appeal in the interest of unity and stability ahead of the primaries.

“I humbly anticipate a fruitful outcome to my appeal,” Amiekumo added.

The appeal comes amid growing political consultations and alignments ahead of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly party primaries, particularly in Southern Ijaw Constituency 1, where political stakeholders are intensifying grassroots engagements.
