Igali hails former Rivers governor as “pillar of wisdom and integrity” as PANDEF delegation pays courtesy visit
Members of the Board of Trustees (BOT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), led by the National Chairman, Ambassador Dr. Godknows Boladei Igali, OON, have paid an unscheduled courtesy visit to former Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Chief Rufus Ada-George.

The delegation, comprising PANDEF State Chairmen and Secretaries alongside other national officers, made the visit on Sunday, September 27, 2026, shortly after the Forum’s meeting in Port Harcourt.
Speaking during the visit, Ambassador Igali described Chief Ada-George as a prominent figure in the Niger Delta and a longstanding voice on issues affecting the region.
“His Excellency Chief Rufus Ada George remains a pillar of wisdom and integrity in our collective struggle. It was only fitting that we paid him this visit to honour his enduring contributions to PANDEF and to the Niger Delta at large,” Igali said.
Ada-George: PANDEF Must Remain United
Responding, Chief Rufus Ada-George expressed appreciation to the PANDEF leadership and delegation for the gesture.
He stressed the importance of continued unity and cooperation among stakeholders in advancing the interests of the Niger Delta.
“I am deeply honoured by this gesture. PANDEF remains the united voice of the Niger Delta, and I urge all stakeholders to continue to work together in the interest of our people and our region,” he stated.
PANDEF Mourns Chief Albert Horsfall
Earlier during the engagement, the PANDEF delegation observed a minute of silence in honour of the late Chief Albert Korubo Horsfall, OFR, a founding member of the Forum and pioneer Chairman of the Oil Minerals Producing Areas Development Commission (OMPADEC).
The gathering paid tribute to Chief Horsfall’s contributions to the development of the Niger Delta and to Nigeria’s security architecture.
Members of the delegation also reaffirmed their commitment to preserving and honouring his legacy.
The visit concluded with prayers for the continued progress of PANDEF and the peace, development and prosperity of the Niger Delta region.
