The National Assembly member representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency Hon. Engr. Rodney Ebikebina Ambaiowei has expressed his people’s admiration and gratitude towards Governor Douye Diri who he described a true Christian leader, stating that the Governor’s unwavering faith and love for God has made him stand out among other political leaders, earning him the affection and support of the people.

Hon. Ambaiowei shared his personal experience with the Governor during a chat with Erevision MediaTV at the 2023 Christmas get-together with his constituents in Yenagoa.
“My miracle Governor Douye Diri is a Christian loving Governor, A Governor that I cherish. And I’ve always told anyone who cares to know that this is a Governor meant for this State, even before I went to give my testimony and Thanksgiving yesterday. I went to him and said my judgement was passed last Thursday. In 3 days time, I’m going to give Testimony. He said go and give Testimony. Your testimony to God is more important than me who is a Governor”, he said.
Inspired by Gov. Diri’s words, the Congressman gave his testimony without the knowledge of his family and was overwhelmed by the Governor’s genuine support and encouragement.
Hon. Ambaiowei emphasized that this incident is a testament to the Governor’s deep-rooted love for God and his commitment to prioritizing the people’s well-being. He therefore, urged Bayelsans to rally behind the Sen. Douye Diri and embrace his vision for the state, as he has proven time and again that he has the best interests of the people at heart.
“What I want to tell fellow Bayelsans is that everybody should key round the Governor of Bayelsa State. He has the dividends of democracy to give to you. And we all backing him would bring forth dividends of democracy to the entire Bayelsa State”, he said.
Engr. Rodney Ambaiowei also shared his vision for the year 2024, and expressed his desire to run an all-inclusive Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency. To this end, he called upon his predecessor, Hon. Preye Oseke, to join him in working together for the betterment of the constituency.
Despite their age difference, Hon. Ambaiowei acknowledged Oseke as his leader and emphasized the need for unity and collaboration to bring progress and development to Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency.
The people of Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency are hopeful that this call for unity and cooperation will pave the way for a bright future and positive change in the region. They expressed their unwavering support for Hon. Ambaiowei and his vision, believing that his leadership will lead to significant advancements and improvements in the constituency.
As the Governor and the National Assembly representative continue to serve their respective roles with dedication and commitment, the entire Bayelsa State looks forward to a promising future filled with dividends of democracy and prosperity for all citizens.
