In a momentous occasion at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa, His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri, was sworn in for his second term as the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State. In his address, Governor Diri expressed his gratitude to the people of Bayelsa for their support and outlined his administration’s commitment to unity, progress, and prosperity for all citizens.

During his first term, Governor Diri highlighted various achievements in infrastructure, health, education, security, and economic development. He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration and unity among Bayelsans to overcome challenges and achieve greatness as a state.
Governor Diri also announced plans for a Bayelsa State Economic Development Summit to engage stakeholders, discuss opportunities, and forge partnerships to accelerate economic growth. He stressed the importance of transparency in governance and the need to address key sectors such as power supply, water distribution, and agriculture.
With a focus on Love, Reconciliation, Unity, Peace, and Security, Governor Diri reassured the people of Bayelsa that his administration remains committed to building a state that is prosperous, inclusive, and resilient. He ended his address with a call for unity, stating “WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER,” and expressing confidence in the collective strength and resilience of Bayelsans.
