A renowned Bayelsa State Blogger Mr, Robinson Ere Erebi has called on the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State Sen. Douye Diri to assist an octogenarian flood victim stranded in her flooded house at Ikibiri in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!In a message to the Governor posted in his Facebook page, Mr. Erebi who is also a retired State Director of the National Population Commission in Yenagoa said that the although 2022 flood is a national phenomenon and natural disaster, its impact is too much for some of our people to bear.
One of such people are octogenarians like Mrs. Print Okoroyou whose predicament was captured during live video coverage of the ravaging flood in her Ikibiri community.
“We hear the same terrible stories from other parts of Bayelsa State and the people are counting on you to do something sir”
“We’re also praying that God should intervene in the affairs of Ijaw nation as this flood exposes our level of underdevelopment and vulnerability”
May God protect Your Excellency, he said.
The Octogenarian flood victim Mrs, Print Okoroyou who looked visibly shaken by cold water covering her legs, called for government’s assistance while speaking to ErevisionTV in an interview on Nigeria’s Deadly Flood.
“I’ve been outside, standing in the cold water all night. I’m afraid I may die with this cold standing in the flood.”
Even my bed is useless. When you go, please tell the authorities to do something for me, she said
