President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in 17 Honourable Federal Commissioners of the National Population Commission, which he nominated last November.

They include Hon. Emmanuel Trump Eke (Abia); Dr. Clifford T. O Zirra (Adamawa); Hon. Chidi Christopher Ezeoke, mni (Anambra); Barr. Isa Audu Buratai (Borno); Bishop Alex Ukam (Cross River); Hon. Mrs. Blessyn Brume-Ataguba (Delta) and Dr. Jeremiah Ogbonna Nwankwagu (Ebonyi).
Others are Dr. Tony Aiyejina (Edo); Hon. Ejike Ezeh (Enugu); Hon. Abubakar Damburam (Gombe); Prof. Uba Nnabue (Imo); Mrs. Saadatu Garba Dogonbauchi (Kaduna); Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa (Kano); Hon. Yori Afolabii (Kogi); Hon. Mrs. Mary Ishaya Afan, mni (Plateau); Hon. Saany Sale Sule (Taraba) and Prof. Ogiri Itotenaan Henry (Rivers).
Recall that on November 8, 2023, President Tinubu appointed 20 Federal Commissioners to the NPC, nine of whom were appointed for a second term in office.
Subsequently, three nominees, Olakunle Sobukola (Ogun), Temitayo Oluwatuyi (Ondo) and Sen. Mudashiru Husain (Osun) were later replaced by Hon. Fasuwa Johnson Abayomi (Ogun), Mrs. Olukemi Victoria Iyantan (Ondo) and Dr. Amidu Tadese Raheem (Osun). The nominees from Ogun and Osun States have been screened and confirmed by the Senate but their swearing-in by Mr. President will be at a later date.
The Commission welcomes and congratulates the 17 Federal Commissioners.
