As previously reported by EMTV News, Ambaiowei’s infrastructural development initiatives are informed by demands from community stakeholders and commitments made during his first-term electioneering campaigns.

The ongoing interventions reflect efforts to address identified community needs, with education infrastructure receiving attention as part of the lawmaker’s constituency development priorities.

A few months ago, renovation works commenced on dilapidated secondary school buildings in Oweikorogha and Peremabiri communities, alongside the rehabilitation of staff quarters and a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) lodge in Otuan Community.

Recent photographs of the Oweikorogha Community School show substantial improvements to the school building, including refurbished classrooms, renovated corridors, new floor finishes, painted walls and other visible rehabilitation works.

The project signboard identifies the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) as the client and Hon. Engr. Rodney E. Ambaiowei as the sponsor.

The facilities appear to be approaching readiness for handover, although formal completion and handover have not been independently confirmed by EMTV News.

Other constituency interventions are also reported to be ongoing, with expectations that the development programme could be expanded to address additional needs across the federal constituency.

For communities that have long depended on ageing educational infrastructure, the rehabilitation projects represent an opportunity to improve the learning environment and support the delivery of quality education.

Beyond the immediate physical improvements, investment in school infrastructure is essential to creating safer and more conducive learning spaces for pupils and students, while strengthening the foundations for human capital development.

For Southern Ijaw, the ultimate measure of these interventions will be their lasting impact on the lives of the people, particularly the children whose educational opportunities depend on access to functional and well-maintained facilities.

EMTV News will continue to follow developments surrounding the projects, including their formal completion, handover and subsequent use by the beneficiary communities.
