After the brutal killing of 17 soldiers from the 181 Amphibious Battalion in Okuama, Delta State, three suspects have been apprehended.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has also assured the public that measures are being taken to prevent further attacks.
The suspects were captured in Port Harcourt and have been moved to Army headquarters in Asaba. The authorities are believed to be conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
In response to the killings, the House of Representatives has called on the Armed Forces of Nigeria to conduct an extensive inquiry.
During a Senate debate on the matter, Senator Akpabio expressed doubts about the origin of the attackers, suggesting they might not be from the Niger Delta region. He called for a comprehensive investigation to determine their identities and motives. The Senate has initiated its own probe into the incident, urging its defence committees to collaborate with the military authorities.
The Senate also demanded the swift identification, arrest, and prosecution of the perpetrators. Additionally, they called on the government to expedite the recruitment and training of more police officers for enhanced security.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army has been urged to fulfill its primary responsibility of safeguarding the nation.
