Last night, I had the pleasure of joining thousands of music lovers at the Sports Complex in Yenagoa for an unforgettable show hosted by our global music ambassador, Inetimi Odon, better known as Timaya.
The atmosphere was electric, filled with the sounds of cheers, laughter, and, of course, the captivating rhythms that only Timaya and his talented friends can deliver. It was a privilege to stand amongst fellow Bayelsans, celebrating not just a new year, but the rich cultural heritage we share as a community. Timaya’s performance was nothing short of extraordinary, leaving us all in high spirits and filled with hope for the year ahead.
As the Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, I take immense pride in witnessing our very own son of the soil stepping up to champion our aspirations in the entertainment industry. Timaya’s dedication to promoting our culture and talent is inspiring, and it resonates with our vision to elevate Bayelsa as a regional hub for tourism and entertainment. His commitment reflects the passion and resilience of the Ijaw Nation, and we are grateful for his support in showcasing what our state has to offer.
Last night’s event was not just a concert; it was a celebration of community, unity, and the rich musical heritage that defines us. As the melodies soared through the air, we were reminded of the power of music to bring people together, transcending boundaries and embodying the spirit of togetherness. This is the essence of what we aim to build in Bayelsa—a vibrant entertainment landscape that attracts visitors from near and far.
As the night came to a close, very much like the promises of a New Year, the anticipation for what’s next was palpable. Thank you, Timaya, for gracing us with your presence and exceptional artistry. Bayelsa is more than ready to host you again next year, and I’m confident that together, we will continue to amplify our efforts in promoting our cultural and entertainment prowess.
