The party disclosed this in a press statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
According to the statement, the primary election for the House of Representatives, which was earlier scheduled for a different date, will now hold nationwide on Saturday, while the timetable for other primaries remains unchanged.
The APC stated that the Senate Primary Election will hold on Monday, May 18, while the State House of Assembly Primary Election is fixed for Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
The party further announced that its Governorship Primary Election will take place on Thursday, May 21, with the Presidential Primary Election scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The statement read in part: “The All Progressives Congress (APC) announces the postponement of the House of Representatives Primary Election for the 2027 General Elections to Saturday, 16th May, 2026.”
The ruling party, however, did not state reasons for the postponement of the House of Representatives primaries.
Political observers say the adjustment in date may allow the party to conclude internal consultations and logistical arrangements ahead of the exercise.
