In response, Hon. Engr. Rodney Hon. Engr. Rodney Ebikebina Ambaiowei, member representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, and Senator Friday Konbowei Benson, representing Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, paid a visit to the community earlier today to assess the extent of the damage.
The lawmakers’ visit was aimed at gathering firsthand information on the crisis, which they noted would serve as the basis for their joint report and recommendations to Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri.
During their interaction with community leaders and residents, the legislators expressed concern over the destruction and called for peace, urging stakeholders to embrace dialogue in resolving disputes.

Their visit underscores the state government’s commitment to restoring calm and ensuring that lasting solutions are found to prevent a recurrence of such conflicts in Ogboinbiri and other communities across Bayelsa.
