The families of Bowman-Ere of Ogbopina-Ama and Peremoboere Bowman-Ere (née Gbefa) of Ebiladei-Ama, both of Amassoma Town in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, have announced the passing of their beloved matriarch, Hon. Vivien Eniekenumu Ere, who died on February 14, 2026, after a prolonged illness. She was 63 years old.

Described as a vibrant, illustrious, and compassionate leader, the late Hon. Ere was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, and community figure whose life was marked by service and dignity.
She is survived by her four children, siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

A series of funeral activities have been scheduled in her honour, beginning with a valedictory session at the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, followed by a service of songs in Yenagoa, and culminating in her burial rites in Amassoma.
