The initiative, spearheaded by the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, High Chief Weris Tike, is designed to bring comfort, care and a sense of inclusion to senior citizens during the Yuletide period. Under the programme, the Foundation will be reaching out to elderly persons aged 50 years and above, in recognition of their years of sacrifice and contribution to society.
According to details released by the Foundation, beneficiaries will be selected across two categories: 20 elderly women and 10 elderly men, carefully identified to ensure fairness and impact. Selections will be carried out through verified phone contacts, with adequate follow-up processes in place to ensure that the gesture is effectively implemented and reaches the intended recipients.
The Foundation described the initiative as a modest but meaningful step towards supporting the elderly, particularly at a time when many face economic and social challenges, despite the festive atmosphere of the season. Christmas, the Foundation noted, should be a period of joy for all generations, including those who often feel forgotten.
This outreach further underscores the Chief Weris Tike Foundation’s commitment to compassion-driven service, community support, and social responsibility, especially for vulnerable groups.
As preparations continue, the Foundation has reaffirmed its resolve to sustain humanitarian interventions that promote dignity, care and shared happiness within communities.
