“I want to appeal to all Bayelsans to please come out and be counted. In fact nobody is going to pay you for it. It’s a civic responsibility that we owe ourselves. So we should come out and show people that we’re here. The last exercise in 2006 ended in litigation”.
“Bayelsa State government took NPC to court but it didn’t go far. We have opportunity now to correct whatever omissions we had in 2006. So please wherever you are, if they don’t get to you on these dates, they’ll brindg out numbers for you to call if they don’t get to you, but I’m very sure because EAD covered every area of Bayelsa, they’ll get to the fishing camps, they’ll get to every camp in every part of the State.
But, please when they come, accept them and answer the questions as they are. And don’t demand for money, please. They don’t have money, all they have is their equipment to ask questions with”, she said.

Gloria Izonfuo’s statement about the Nigeria 2023 Census is a call to action for citizens to participate in the census without being asked for money. This is an important message because the census is a crucial tool for planning and development in Nigeria. The census provides accurate data on the population, which is used to allocate resources, plan infrastructure, and make policy decisions.
It is important that every citizen is counted in the census, regardless of their socio-economic status. Demanding money to be counted is not only illegal but also undermines the integrity of the census. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure that the census is conducted in a fair and transparent manner, and citizens should not be asked to pay for their inclusion.

Furthermore, it is important for citizens to understand the importance of the census and to participate in it willingly. The census provides a snapshot of the population at a particular point in time, and this data is used to make important decisions that affect the lives of every Nigerian. By participating in the census, citizens are contributing to the development of their communities and the country as a whole.
In conclusion, Gloria Izonfuo’s message is a reminder to Nigerians that the census is a vital tool for development, and that every citizen should be counted without being asked for money. It is important for citizens to participate in the census willingly and to understand the importance of their contribution to the development of their country.
