A new security company that provides guards, escorts, personnel, marine security, and consultancy services in Nigeria has been launched in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The company is called Delta Safe Limited.

While unveiling the company as part of activities marking his retirement from public service, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Milton Yalah emphasized that Delta Safe is a 24/7 360-degree private security service company that provides a safe and secure business and social environment across various spectrums of customer engagements. He stressed that the company focuses on promoting civil-military cooperation, intelligence gathering, and information management to provide a safe and secure environment for its clients.
“The company’s objective is to bridge the gap in public security systems by providing reliable coverage and response to the security needs of our clients. We leverage our strong security network in manning, monitoring, and responding to security concerns and offer requisite legal support for infringements on the rights of our clients.”
“The company also provides a best-in-class logistics service that utilizes the company’s security infrastructure to convey personnel, materials, and equipment safely and reliably to and from any part of the country. We cover roads and waterways and have a strong partnership that delivers by air.”
“Delta Safe clients benefit from the broad and diversified experience of our personnel and our network of contacts in the national and international law enforcement community. Together, we provide various services that meet the growing security needs in the country,” he said.
Incorporated as a Category ‘A’ licensed Private Security Company (PSC) in Nigeria and headquartered in Bayelsa State with offices in Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Abuja, Delta Safe is registered with the Ministry of the Interior and complies with the permits and licensing requirements of the Private Guard Companies (PGC) Act CAP 30, LFN, and the Nigerian Security and Defense Corps (NSCDC) Act. The company also identifies with the Nigerian Penal Code, the Criminal Code, and the Firearms (special provisions) Act (CAP. C38. CAP. F28. CAP. E18. CAP. R11) as critical laws that support and guide its operations.
Delta Safe also operates in the travel and tourism industry through its subsidiary, Biba’s Travels, where people can explore the world. Specifically, Biba’s Travels provides flight tickets, tour packages, beach cruises, visa processing, logistics services, project management, consultancy, and special training for drivers.
The Managing Director/CEO of Delta Safe Limited, Mr. Milton Yalah, is a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Nigerian Army. He has 35 years of experience serving in the Nigerian Military and has vast knowledge of the security architecture of the country and the region. He has served in high-profile positions in the military and has led various commands into successful operations. He has the sole objective of solving problems, providing timely solutions, engaging in target-driven actions, fostering teamwork, and providing leadership.
Speaking to Erevision Media about the journey so far, shortly after the launching, Mr. Yalah said: “The journey so far started in January 1989. And by January this year 2024… 35 years. So I felt I should give thanks to God, the Most High, the Creator, the one that provided the enabling environment for me to strive within my profession as a military officer. You know, I started small and ended up great. So I thank God and I will continue to give thanks to God.”
On the establishment of a security outfit: “On retirement, I want to see that the Niger Delta is safe. So I felt I should launch a security company to support whatever the government has put in place to provide security, to make sure that people live in peace, and to make sure that you sleep well with your eyes closed within our Niger Delta region.”
“So the security company is being launched as a big project today. We have made plans to ensure that whatever we bring on board supports the prosperity government to succeed, and any other government that comes after that because our main aim is to ensure that people are secure and able to go about their businesses safely.”
Lt. Col. Milton Yalah (Rtd) is a seasoned, robust professional with extensive experience in risk management, operational security, project management, and mentoring gained globally with a people-oriented approach. He has proven command management skills and administrative skills that are very relevant in managing a security company like Delta Safe. He brings with him a highly esteemed and experienced security specialist into the company and has connections with the Army, the Navy, the Airforce, and the Department of State Security.
He holds a BSc degree in Criminology and Security Studies, and a Masters Degree in International Affairs and Defense Studies from the Nigerian Defense Academy.
